Christmas 2012

Some of my family at a live nativity.
Playing games..."Ticket To Ride" and "Scrabble". My brother's happy because he finally beat me : )

My mom was happy to have the whole family together for a picture. Here are my parents, sister, and I waiting for my brothers to arrive.

A visit with my grandma.
Fun time playing with my nieces and nephew.
Christmas party with our team/co-workers.
Everyone had to show off their talent...amazing what you can come up with. Here is a British guy playing a local instrument and a Dutch guy whistling "Silent Night" with his hand!
Dessert potluck...way too much sugar that night! I made truffles of various flavors.
Some plates of goodies and Christmas cards to pass out to friends and people I know in the community.
My tree...only up for a week this year...

Misc. December Pics

Team Picture Day!
End-of-term party day!
Our school was asked to help give a training seminar to college students who are studying to be teachers.
Final exam day with some of my students from this past term.

Goodbye meals

My favorite Hmong family dressing up for a photo : ) Can you see me?
Cute little bundle: )
These girls are all starting to warm up to me (which means they are starting not to believe the horror stories they hear about foreigners eating & hitting children).

Any opportunity to wear the beautiful traditional outfits.

It was such a blessing to partake of this special goodbye meal that was prepared for me. A short time of prayer took place before the meal.
My friend and her sister prepared a couple different types of food...soup with greens and ginger chicken stir fry.

Another goodbye meal included a minced meat salad, sticky rice, and bananas. This little girl is another one who has taken time to warm up to me. It was very sweet when she said "I love grandpa, grandma, and Aunt Kim."
My little "nephew" who is growing so fast.
The final goodbye meal was with my team at our favorite little Indian place.
