I ate this at a birthday party.  It was described as something similar to bamboo that is deep fried.  Not sure how I feel about it...

Vacation in Southern Thailand

 Unfortunately, it was monsoon season in the south, so this is a rare moment without rain during the time I was there!

End of Term

One of my classes arranged to have a post-exam snack on the school grounds. 

Their snack of choice?  Intestines and other body parts seasoned with chili and dipped in a sauce made from the waste taken out of a cow colon...yum yum!

Labor Day (May 1st) Picnic

 A group of 30+ students came from a neighboring district to have a "field trip" at one of the tourist sites in my town and practice English with me. 

 They all brought picnic foods wrapped in banana leaves. 

 Some of the things on the menu included bird...

 rice...

 ...and dog meat! 

Here is a homemade bamboo canteen with a bone remnant used as a stopper.
