Misc. Pics from June

Our director sharing the flood story at the end-of-term party at school.

A nice view of the town I live in.

Ning's an aunt!

Animals!

Bamboo rats...you can always count on these being in the market!

Frogs & toads of all shapes and sizes are a common food here.

Some catfish caught in the Mekong River.

Lizards must have been in season on this day at the local market.  There were several cages of these guys!

A snake that was slithering around a rice field!

Graduation

Graduations are interesting here.  First, you buy a stuffed animal or silk flowers for the graduate (matching colors is not a requirement for the bouquet!)

Next, you go the school where the graduation is taking place at the time you were told.  Then you usually wait around outside an additional hour or two until the ceremony indoors is complete.

Finally, you try to find your graduate in the sea of people (what did people do before cell phones?)  and  take a picture with the graduate....it's all about the pictures!!

My New Kittens

One of my co-worker's cats had a litter of kittens she was trying to get rid of, so I am not a cat owner.

This one is Earl Grey.

And this one is Aslan.
