A Lost and Found Story

This week held some scary moments for my youngest brother, Jeremy. You can read the news clips below. I talked to him yesterday and heard his version of the story. Basically they were without food for over 30 hours, were wet from hiking through the snow and river, had to build a shelter for the night and try to stay warm with low temps during the night in the high 30's/low 40's. Jeremy prayed a lot and thankfully they were able to hike out before night fell the second day. Only his dog needed medical attention :(

Two Portland hikers overdue PORTLAND– The search is on for two Portland men missing since Monday. Family and friends say Erke Cheung and Jeremy Oberbrunner left Portland for a one-hour hike Monday morning, but never returned. Even more difficult for searchers, neither left a note saying where they were headed. They think the two could be hiking somewhere near Angel Cross in the Gorge or someplace in Zig-Zag, Ore. They were last seen in a white 1991 Toyota pick up, which has also not been spotted.

MOUNT HOOD, Ore. - A hiker reported missing after he failed to come home Monday night is safe and sound.Jeremy Oberbrunner, 26, called his family by cell phone late Tuesday, saying he and his hiking buddy, 34-year-old Erke Cheung, had gotten lost Monday somewhere near Mount Hood but were able to hike out. Oberbrunner's wife filed a missing persons report after her husband failed to return home on Monday. On Tuesday, a search and rescue crew headed up to an area near Clackamas Lake where Oberbrunner had reportedly gone. Rescue crews were unable to locate any sign of him, but he later called to report that he and Cheung were safe and were on their way back to Portland.
