At church on Sunday, there was a Firstfruits Offering given. From what I could understand the Thai Christians do this based on the concept of firstfruits in the Bible and the American Thanksgiving. About this time of the year, after the harvest, people in the church will bring some of their rice, fruits and vegetables, and other food to the church as an offering of thankfulness before God. The fresh food is enjoyed by everyone after church and the rice will be used to feed everyone on subsequent Sundays throughout the coming year. Thursday, December 20, 2007
